Cuban Agricultural Sector to Boost Coffee Production |

Havana.- The Cuban agricultural sector is executing a long-term expansion plan, with a view to producing 30,000 tons of coffee by 2030.
The strategy includes the installation of two dozen laboratories, ecological pulping facilities, improvement plants and 10,000 hectares with irrigation.
For the 2018 fiscal year, the plans envisage obtaining some 8,100 tons of coffee grains, with possibilities to reach 9,000 in 2019.
Work is also under way to introduce more productive varieties, apply modern techniques in nurseries and increase the number of postures in the fields.
The incorporation of 50 double-traction tractors, especially in the mountains, was also completed, while new camps were built to consolidate the workforce in coffee-growing areas.
