Havana.- The Cuban central province of Sancti Spiritus benefits from the services of a microbiology laboratory for pregnant women, at the Northern Polyclinic, which will perform urine cultures to the pregnant women in maternal homes of the provincial capital.
The laboratory provides care to pregnant women and is equipped with the necessary technology to perform the aforementioned tests.
With the new service, there is greater comfort because urine cultures are done in each trimester and that way, pregnant women's access to the study is guaranteed, in addition to centralizing this process of control.
The analysis is quick and effective because bacteria are identified in the course of 24 to 48 hours to know to which antibiotic they are resistant or sensitive, and based on that result the subsequent treatment is administered.
