Nature Tourism in Western Cuba

Havana.- Pinar del Rio, Cuba's westernmost province, stands out for its options of nature tourism, due to the wealth of its environment.

From January to date, the territory has received 380,386 national and foreign visitors, who have been interested in visiting caves and hiking.

Among the most visited places are Guanahacabibes, Mil Cumbres, San Diego-La Güira and the Viñales Valley. The was designated a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Pinar del Rio's major tourist sending markets are Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the United States, Denmark and the Netherlands.

There is also the Tobacco Route, which offers the possibility of knowing all aspects related to the sowing, cultivation, profit and industrial production of the leaf.
