Cuban Canoeists Join World Elite |

Havana.- Cuban canoeists are working hard to maintain their presence in the world elite of that sport by participating in several top-level events.
In that regard, Serguey Torres is participating in a training base in Poland prior to the world championship in Portugal, where he will compete along with Fernando Dayán Jorge in the 1,000-meter C-2 contest.
It is worth mentioning that in the world championships in 2017, they won the silver medal in the C-2 race and Torres finished second in the 1,000-meter C-1 contest.
From January to date, Torres has won four medals in the same number of competitions, including two titles in Hungary and two silver medals in Germany.
His latest title was achieved in the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia, in the 1,000-meter C-2 event, the fifth such a title that he wins in three regional meetings in which he has taken part.
