Panama.- Panama is building new structures to develop tourism, including a convention center and a cruise terminal.
Both projects are under way, at a joint investment of 358 million dollars.
The construction of a modern convention center on the edge of the Panama Canal is at 78 percent of completion, while the cruise terminal is at 34 percent.
The cruise port, located on Isla Perico, in the Amador area, will start up operations in mid-2019 to attract holidaymakers from new routes.
Meanwhile, the convention center will have the most advanced technologies and will cover a total area of 58,000 square meters to host several types of events.
Experts pointed out that the convention center will generate some 18 million dollars in 2019.
