Cuban Cyclist Excels at Pan-American Track Cycling Event
Monday, September 10, 2018

Havana.- Marlies Mejias, one of Cuba's best cyclists, won three medals in the Pan-American Track Cycling Championship.

Mejias won the silver medals in the three-kilometer individual pursuit and the scratch, in addition to the bronze medal in the contest by points.

Meanwhile, Lisandra Guerra and Mirtha Garcia, also from Cuba, finished in the fourth (33.654 seconds) and eighth (35.647) positions, respectively, in the 500-meter individual time trial race.

They also finished fourth in the speed race by teams, clocking 34.256 seconds, and preceded by Mexico, the United States and Canada.

It is worth mentioning that Cuba has already won six slots in the women's and men's categories to participate in the Pan-American Games in Lima-2019.
