Trinidad Is Declared Artisanal City of the World |

Havana.- Trinidad, in the central province of Sancti Spiritus, was declared an Artisanal City of the World, thus becoming the first the first town in Cuba to receive that recognition.
The corresponding file to apply for that condition was prepared in 2015, after which the city was visited by experts from the World Council of Crafts.
The title also recognizes the traditions that were cultivated over the centuries and have survived the passage of time.
Cities in China, India, Iran and Chile have also received that condition, which in the case of Trinidad, it is based on the permanence and enrichment of needle works.
Trinidad qualifies as one of the first settlements established in Cuba by the Spanish colonizers, and holds a large and well-preserved cultural, historic and natural heritage.
