Monday, September 24, 2018

Havana.- The historian of the City of Havana, Eusebio Leal, was honored with the Hadrian Prize, granted by the World Monuments Fund (WMF).

The recognition takes into consideration his efforts to preserve and restore Old Havana, one of the most beautiful and well preserved historic centers in the American continent.

According to experts, the award is granted every year to a distinguished individual to acknowledge his/her leadership in promoting the understanding, appreciation and preservation of the world heritage.

The WMF is a non-profitable organization dedicated to the preservation of historic architectural sites and world cultural heritage through field work, promotion, grants, education and training.

The institution has its headquartered in New York and offices around the world, where its members identify and develop restoration projects and attract local support to manage them.
