Havana.- The XXIV edition of the Fiesta de la Cubanía, in the eastern province of Granma, has an agenda in 2018 that includes more than 230 activities.
According to the organizers, the event will be dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the wars for independence in Cuba, which led to an early emergence of La Bayamesa, which eventually became Cuba´s national anthem.
Directors of the National Museum of Music of Cuba indicated that on this occasion, the UNESCO declaration of the Cuban punt as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity is added to the celebrations.
Also, the 150th anniversaries of the Band of Concerts of Bayamo and 40 years of the Houses of Culture system.
The presentations include literary and theater works, photographic and plastic arts exhibitions, concerts, dance performances and the exhibition of films.
The movie industry will be represented by titles such as Lucia, by Humberto Solás; Zafiros: Blue Madness, of Manolo Herrera and Memories of the Underdevelopment, of Tomás Gutiérrez Alea.
