Cuban Boxing Team Will Miss Out Youth Olympiad
Monday, October 8, 2018

Havana.- Cuban boxing team will not attend the 3rd Youth Olympic Games, to be held in Buenos Aires (Argentina).

Sports officials in Cuba indicated that the International Boxing Association had informed them of the decision, that leaves Cuban boxers out of the competition.

This rules out an earlier announcement considering the possibility of having a Cuban boxer and a coach in the event.

Cuba intended to participate in the games with three boxers, invited by the World Association of Amateur Boxing, which were able to intervene with three fighters thanks to the AIBA, where Cuba won a title through Idalberto Umará and the bronze of Christian Pinder.

In this way, a country with a long tradition in boxing and that has just won in the World Series of that sport is out of the Olympic event.
