Havana.- The Cuban beach volleyball duo integrated by Karell Peña and Luis Reyes reached the title in the fourth phase of the XII North, Central America and Caribbean Circuit (NORCECA).
In the event, based in Los Corales, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the Cuban couple won in the final to the Mexicans Josué Gaxiola and José Rubio, with partial 21-15 and 22-20.
Meanwhile, among the ladies, Yanisleidis Sanchez-Arlin Hechavarria's duo finished fourth, with a 1-2 reverse (16-21, 21-16 and 12-15) against the Mexican Martha Revuelta and Zaira Orellana.
In the standings, Peña and Reyes finished undefeated in section C, and in the quarterfinals they beat the Nicaraguans Rubén Mora and Dany López 2-0 (21-18 and 21-12).
Also, in the semifinals, they beat the Americans Zaun and Drost 2-0 (21-15 and 21-17), who achieved the bronze, after going 2-0 (21-17 and 21-13) to the Canadians Grabovskyy and Kazhamiaka.
