Havana.- The 2018 edition of the Havana International Marathon (MARABANA) already has the confirmation of 1,139 foreign runners representing 47 countries.
According to the organizers, at the meeting, 3,300 athletes from the host nation reaffirmed their presence, in recognition of the sporting activities on the island.
Likewise, in the day prior to the event, Maracuba will be held simultaneously in municipalities, rural and mountain population centers throughout the country.
Both events are dedicated to the Day of Physical Culture and Sport, to the 500th Anniversary of the Villa of San Cristóbal de La Habana and its proclamation by Unesco as a World Heritage Site.
The Association of International Marathons and Distance Careers, known by its acronym in English as AIMS, ratified the inclusion of MARABANA in the world calendar for 2019.
