Cuban Charcoal Takes on Foreign Market
Monday, October 8, 2018

Havana.- The province of Villa Clara, in the central zone of the island, completed the shipment in the first nine months of 2018 of around 770 tons of charcoal to the international market.

This volume exceeds by a hundred tons the forecasts of the activity for the entire year.

According to the specialists, the manufacture of coal allows to make use of the areas that were idle, besides being a saleable item with low-cost production.

The vegetable fuel produced in Villa Clara is mainly exported to customers in Europe and Middle East nations.

In their production, they generally use raw materials such as marabou, which also contributes to the cleaning of lands suitable for agriculture.
