Plastic Surgery Popularity On the Rise in Cuba |

Havana.- Plastic surgery, with an important component of aesthetics, is becoming more popular in the Cuban health system due to its significant weight in the well-being of the population.
According to official figures, on the island from 2001 to 2016, 309,469 procedures of this type were performed, of which 200,508 were aesthetic and the rest were reconstructive.
According to specialists, this method is accessed after medical evaluation and there are cases in which alloplastic materials are applied that must be acquired by the patient.
This specialty, they indicated, is a complement to improve the quality of life of people, so it does not replace healthy habits.
Likewise, each treatment must be individualized, since not always what a patient requests is their best aesthetic or technically possible option.
