Monday, November 5, 2018

Havana.- The Cuban capital hosted an extensive program on Russian cinema, as part of the Week dedicated to the cinematography of that country.

Among the motion pictures screened in Havana was Salyut-7, which is based on a true story and pays tribute to the Russian cosmonauts.

Other films were Icebreaker (2016), which deals about the sensitive issue of the disintegration of the Soviet Union, and the historic drama Matilda (2017), directed by Aleksey Uchitel and which narrates the sentimental relationship between the heir of the Russian throne, Nikolai Romanov, and the dancer of the Imperial Theater Matilda Kshensinskaya.

The list of Russian movies exhibited in Havana also included The Duelist (2016), by Alex Mizgiryov; The Green Coach (2015), by Oleg Asadulin; Blockbuster (2017), by Ilya Stuart, and About Love (2017).
