New Social Benefits in Cuban Economy

Havana.- The Ministry of Labor and Social Security of Cuba approved new benefits that will have a broad impact on the economy, after establishing minimum pension and social assistance increases.

This way, the monetary benefits of 99,114 families with 157,791 people, protected by social assistance, will be increased by 70 pesos.

In addition, the minimum retirement pension will be 242 pesos, which implies higher income for 445,748 people who are in that condition.

According to Cuban authorities, in order to implement that measure, 313.3 million pesos will be disbursed by the State.

The measure is part of plans to order the situation of wages in general, as well as pensions and the benefits of social assistance.
