Health Prizes for 2018 Awarded in Cuba |

Havana.- The Cuban Ministry of Public Health awarded the 2018 annual prizes, with a view to acknowledging the work by outstanding medical professionals.
The Grand Prize went to the PhD. in Sciences Nivaldo Linares Perez to recognize his work on the epidemiology of pneumococcal disease and the associated clinical syndromes, of great impact for children's health.
There were 59 winning works, including 37 awards, and the rest were mentions in the categories of Doctoral Thesis, Master's Degree, Specialties, Scientific Article and Applied Research, Technological Innovation and Books, among others.
Among the institutions that receive the award are the Pedro Kouri Tropical Medicine Institute, the Center for Research and Rehabilitation of Hereditary Ataxias, the Neurological Restoration Center and the Nephrology Institute.
