Cuban Female Chess Players at Continental Tournament

Havana.- Cuba will be represented by six female players at the American Continental Chess Championship, which will grant a place for the 2019 World Cup.

The event will take place in the Colombian city of Envigado and will also award the titles of Grand Master to the champion and International Master to the holders of the second and third places.

Cuba will be represented by Lisandra Llaudy, which ranks third in the pre-qualification due to her Elo score of 2,303 points, only preceded by Deisy Cori (2,406 points), from Peru, and Carolina Lujan (2,364 points), from Argentina.

Experts recalled that Llaudy was Cuba's best player at the World Olympiad in September.

The Cuban delegation is completed by Maritza Arribas (2,257), Yaniet Marrero (2,253), Tania Miranda (2,247), Ana Flavia Roca (2,132) and Yoana Gonzalez (2,058).
