Cuban Iron and Steel Company Produces Slag Cement
Monday, November 19, 2018

Havana.- The iron and steel company Aceros Inoxidables (ACINOX) Las Tunas, based in eastern Cuba, is producing slag cement from industrial waste.

The steelmaker makes steel bars and other products for export and the waste from the process is processed in the lime plant.

This way, slag cement is obtained as a new product that supports the company's diversification of production and materializes an alternative that allows greater protection of the environment.

This material is ideal for the construction of floors, walls, sidewalks and concrete blocks.

ACINOX Las Tunas sells slag cement in 42-kilogram bags that can be purchased by companies and agricultural production cooperatives, in addition to being used in the manufacture of blocks and sidewalks.
