Cuba to Share Experiences in Nephrology |

Havana.- Cuban experts will participate in the 9th Ibero-American Congress on Nephrology and the 48th Congress of the Spanish Nephrology Society in Madrid.
At those events, Cuban specialists will share the experience of the national healthcare system in the prevention of chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Officials from the Cuban Nephrology Institute pointed out that they will speak about CKD and cardiovascular risks in Primary Health Care.
In this regard, they recalled that the Ministry of Public Health approved a plan of measures to prevent CKD, which is a global health problem and Cuba is not exempt from that reality.
Cuba reports a high incidence of this kidney disease, with 100 patients per one million inhabitants in recent years, and among the first causes of the disease are diabetes mellitus and high blood pressure.
