Cruise Tourism Stands Out in Cuba |

Havana.- Cruise tourism has gained ground Cuba's leisure industry, with 703,519 passengers from January to October 2018.
Authorities from the tourism sector highlighted that this figure represents a growth of nearly 117,000 vacationers compared to the same period last year.
Cuba remains excluded from the cruise routes because of the restrictions imposed by the United States, a situation that changed in 2016, when the United States Treasury Department granted exceptional permits that boosted that activity.
Cuba's exceptional nature as a tourist destination is recognized by representatives of several cruise companies worldwide and even Norwegian Cruise notified that Cuba and Havana became its preferred destinations during 2017.
