Havana Film Festival Recognized
Monday, December 3, 2018

Havana.- The International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana will receive special recognition from the Ibero-American Federation of Audiovisual Film Producers (FIPCA).

The award is an acknowledgement of the work done by the event in Cuba in the promotion and dissemination of cinema from the region for four decades.

The International Festival of New Latin American Cinema was conceived as a continuation of those held in Viña del Mar (1967 and 1969), Merida (1968 and 1977) and Caracas (1974).

In addition, it was a response to the demand for a space that would guarantee the systematic meeting among moviemakers from the continent.

The Festival has also facilitated the promotion of motion pictures that contribute to the enrichment and reaffirmation of Latin American and Caribbean cultural identity.
