Havana.- Leandro Martinez, a child from the western province of Pinar del Rio, won the International Children's Drawing Competition, which is organized every year by the World Food Program (WFP).
Martinez is a member of the community cultural project El Patio de Pelegrin, where he participates in a workshop on plastic arts.
Paolo Mattei, representative in Cuba of the World Food Program, pointed out that Cuba is an example for its education and artistic education system.
On this occasion, 100 drawings were submitted from 20 countries, 20 were awarded and four were sent by Cuban children, which demonstrates the high quality of artistic teaching since childhood, he said.
It is worth mentioning that Leandro Martinez is the first child from Pinar del Rio who wins a prize in the aforementioned contest.
