Havana.- Laminador 200T has produced more than 760,000 tons of rebar since it was installed in the eastern Cuban province of Las Tunas three decades ago.
With an annual production capacity of 40,000 tons, it also served as the basis for the creation of other factories such as ACINOX Las Tunas and the plant that makes metal structures.
Development plans envisage the replacement of this equipment by the Laminator 300T, a project that will be executed with an investment of nearly 60 million pesos.
The complete supply of a rolling line, including the furnace, as well as machineries to make wire rod, is expected to arrive in Cuba in early 2019.
As a previous step, the civil work that contemplates the repair of 100 columns and an 18,000-square-meter roof is under way.
