Havana.- The Mariel Special Development Zone, in western Cuba, will create the ViMariel Industrial Park, run by ViMariel S.A., a joint venture between the Caribbean island and Vietnam.
The new company was authorized to start the execution of the works in an area of 157 hectares in that enclave.
After operations were approved, the company will be able to plan, invest, build, manage and exploit the infrastructure in the aforementioned area.
This way, the company will operate businesses linked to construction, as well as the heavy industry, packaging and the manufacture of products for personal and household hygiene.
The concession, established for a 50-year period, is also expected to attract investors to Cuba, mainly in the production of flat glass and glass blocks.
