Latin American Cinema in Cuban Theaters |

Havana.- The 40th edition of the New Latin American Film Festival will exhibit more than 100 motion pictures to Cuban audiences.
As part of the program 20 fiction feature films, 22 short and medium-length films, 18 films by first-time directors, 25 documentaries and 26 animated films, will be screened.
In addition, 19 unpublished scripts and 24 posters have been submitted, and a special tribute will be paid to Cuban moviemaker Tomas Gutierrez Alea and the Argentinean filmmaker Fernando Birri.
Two honorary coral awards will be granted; one of them to the Mexican producer Berta Navarro, who has worked on films like El Laberinto del Fauno (2006) and La Delgada Linea Amarilla (2015).
The second of these awards will be granted to the Sundance Institute for its collaboration for more than 20 years with the Havana Film Festival.
