Cuba's Best Athletes in 2018 Chosen |

Havana.- Yaime Perez (discus) and Andy Cruz (boxing) were chosen Cuba's best individual athletes in 2018.
The annual survey also included Alfredo Despaigne (baseball) and Sanailis Nikle (field hockey) as the most prominent athletes in collective sports.
The best team was Domadores de Cuba (boxing), while the best collective sports were wrestling and hockey, and the wrestler Luis Alberto Horta was the best athlete in the rookie category.
As the event of the year was the first medal in women's wrestling in a world championship, won by Lianna de la Caridad Montero.
Moreover, the best athletes of the year were the cyclists Arlenis Sierra and Marlies Mejias, the judokas Idalis Ortiz and Ivan Silva, the long jumper Juan Miguel Echevarria, heptathlete Yorgelis Rodriguez and the wrestlers Yowlys Bonne and Lianna de la Caridad Montero.
