Improved Food Processing in Ciego de Avila
Monday, December 10, 2018

Havana.- The Ceballos complex in the eastern Cuban province of Ciego de Avila has improved potato processing after repairs that benefited the industrial line dedicated to that activity.

Specialists from several companies executed work on the boiler to reduce fuel consumption, in addition to changing mats and building a reception hall.

Likewise, the industrial line of pre-fried potato and mashed potato will soon start operating, for which the plant will use the raw material that is kept in cold stores.

In the coming weeks, the processing of some 3,000 tons of potato is expected in order to supply the hotel and extra-hotel network throughout the country.

In addition, by 2019, other potato-based products will be made, including vegetable-flavored croquettes, which are highly demanded in the domestic market and the tourism sector.
