New Features for Cuban Taekwondo in 2019
Monday, December 17, 2018

Havana.- Cuban taekwondo will face new features in 2019, when the main competitive challenge will be the Pan-American Games in Lima, Peru.

A specialized seminar on Poomsae was held in late 2018 at the National Combat School, led by Spanish specialists Yolanda Ubero, Christian Jaime and Angel Muñoz.

The seminar was attended by several of Cuba's main fighters who will seek to qualify for the Lima games in that modality.

In fact, the Dominican Republic will host the qualifier in March and the goal is to achieve the quota for one Poomsae competitor and eight fighters (four women and four men), who will compete in the Olympic categories on the way to Tokyo 2020.

According to organizers, only one athlete per division (58, 68, 80 and +80 kg among men, and 49, 57, 67 and +67 kg among women) can go to Lima.
