Havana.- The Cuban weightlifter Oniger Drake won the gold medal in the 88-kilogram division in the World Cup of Parapeas in Bogota, Colombia.

The champion in the Parapan-American Games in Toronto-2015, lifted 207 kilograms while lying down.

In addition, Leidys Rodriguez was second in the 41-kilogram division, equaling her continental record with 85 kilograms. She was only surpassed by Colombia's Cristina Poblador, who had a lower weight.

With these performances, Drake and Rodriguez consolidate themselves on the path to compete in the 6th Parapan-Am Games in Lima in 2019 and in their qualification to the Paralympics in Tokyo in 2020.

Regarding the continental event in Peru, in addition to them, four other Cuban weightlifters qualified at the Barranquilla Open.
