Joint Ventures in Cuba Seek Certification
Monday, December 17, 2018

Havana.- Joint ventures in Cuba are advancing in the certification process with a view to accessing the status of Authorized Economic Operator.

According to customs sources, the list of companies includes Portales S.A.

(Corporación Alimentaria de Cuba and the Nestlé Group), Brascuba Cigarrillos S.A, (Cuban-Brazilian) and MPG Tránsitos S.A.

This kind of guarantee is granted by the General Customs of the Republic to a company involved in the international movement of merchandise and thereby it obtains benefits that facilitate its operations.

The process was also started by the Mitsa S.A Mercantile Society, the Bucaneros S.A. Brewery and the Belgian company BDC International S.A., which has operated in Cuba for more than three decades.

When they get the certification, the procedures for import and export are simplified, as well as the priority in customs procedures.
