Havana.- The Cuban drug Heberprot-P has been successfully administered to patients from different areas of the country to treat diabetic foot ulcers.
It is worth mentioning that this medication is the only one of its kind in the to treat this condition, and significantly reduces the risk of amputation.
More than 1,000 patients in the eastern province of Ciego de Avila have had access to the treatment thanks to the work by specialists at angiology services.
Heberprot-P stimulates granulation and healing progressively and sustainably, thus reducing the number of surgical interventions.
It also accelerates the healing time and thus avoids complications such as gangrene and infection, with the consequent increase in the quality of life and functional recovery of the patient.
