Chinese Capital for Tourism in Cuba
Monday, January 7, 2019

Havana.- The tourist sector in Cuba shows an important presence of Chinese investments for the construction of high standard hotels.

According to experts, business people from China have invested some 700 million dollars for these projects, including a hotel at the Hemingway Marina, in Havana.

The establishment will cost 200 million dollars, together with a tourist complex of 500 million dolllars along with a golf course in Bellomonte.

Cuban authorities seek to increase Chinese tourism, which now adds less than 50,000 visitors a year, after Air China opened its first weekly flight between Beijing and Havana with stopover in Montreal in 2015.

Cuba closed 2018 with more than 4.7 million holidaymakers and expects to exceed 5.1 million international visitors this year, supported by the expansion of infrastructure.
