Photo Exhibition on Afro-Cuban Religions
Monday, January 21, 2019

Havana.- The eastern city of Santiago de Cuba is hosting a photo exhibition by the artist Roberto Chile, which includes elements of Afro-Cuban religions.

The faces and bodies were captured by the lens in the town of Orozco, in the Havana municipality of Guanabacoa, and in the cities of Matanzas, Cardenas, Trinidad, Jagüey Grande and Santiago de Cuba.

The exhibition, called Somos (We Are), consists of 100 snapshots taken during religious ceremonies of the rule of Ocha or Santería, babalaos and some of spiritualism.

Previously, the exhibition was announced in the US city of New York and in Germany, after which it was held at the House of Popular Religions.

The Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets, the Sabadell Bank, the Caguayo Foundation and the Alas con Puntas project sponsored the development of the mural.
