Cuban Dance Company to Perform in New York |

Havana.- The Irene Rodriguez dance company will perform this month at the Joyce Theater in New York, where it will stage Mas que Flamenco (More than Flamenco).
According to specialists, several of the choreographies in the program have won important prizes at international competitions such as the Vladimir Malakhov North Atlantic Dance Contest.
Other choreographies in the program are El Mito (The Myth) and La Pena Negra (The Black Sorrow), which were inspired by Federico Garcia Lorca's El Romance de la Pena Negra. Both choreographies were created Rodriguez and will be premiered in New York.
The show also includes choreographies by members of the company, such as Locura y Cordura (Madness and Sanity), by Mara de Armas.
In January 2012, Irene Rodriguez founded the company, which has been praised for its technique, demand and intensity of its dance, as well as the passion of its members.
