New Capacities for Tobacco Production in Cuba
Monday, January 21, 2019

Havana.- The city of Santiago de Cuba, the capital of the eastern province of the same name, is preparing new capacities to process tobacco for export.

The center dedicated to this activity has areas to make hand-rolled cigars and other structures that benefit the manual processing with the required quality.

According to industry experts, the facility will operate at full capacity by 2020.

The production strategy of the tobacco industry includes aspects such as production, efficiency, internal control and improvements in labor conditions.

Tobacco is among Cuba's major exports and a distinctive seal in the westernmost part of the country, although in recent years, the crops have spread to the east of the island.
