Environmental Certificate Granted to Cuban Hotel |

Havana.- The Melia Las Americas Hotel, located in the Cuban resort of Varadero, won the Environmental Star award granted by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment.
The five-star establishment also renewed the Environmental Beach certificate, showing the good performance of its staff in the care and management of natural resources in that destination.
The hotel works to protect the beach as the most attractive natural resource, in addition to supporting actions to make Varadero a sustainable destination.
The Melia Las Americas Hotel reports an occupancy rate of over 80 percent and its main tourist-sending markets are Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain and Russia.
The hotel offers 340 rooms (250 in the main building and 90 in the bungalow area) and recently incorporated the superior category service called The Level.
