Cruise Facilities in Dominican Republic
Monday, January 21, 2019

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic will have new facilities for cruise tourism thanks to a new terminal that will be built in Puerto Plata.

The project includes the terminal itself, a loading jetty with a container yard and a special dock for fishermen, among other works.

The facility can simultaneously receive up to two Oasis Class vessels (the largest ships in the industry), where it is expected that up to 14,000 passengers will arrive in a single day.

The investment is estimated at 125 million dollars to allow the reception of up to 350 boats a year. Authorities predict the presence of shipping companies such as Royal Caribbean Int. (Royal Caribbean Group), Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), MSC Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, among others.

The ships will arrive from Miami, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Curacao, Barbados, Montego Bay, Saint Lucia, Tampa and New York.
