Havana.- Sports activity in Cuba is a prioritized element on the country's social agenda, with a view to achieving the United Nations goals related to sustainable development.
Officials from the sector highlighted the influence of sport on physical education and recreation, with services that contribute to people's well-being and good health.
It is also related to education, as part of the general education system from an early age in children and young people by combining physical practices with the curriculum.
Coupled with this, sport makes an important contribution to the reduction of social, economic and environmental problems in Cuba.
The Cuban sports system consists of a network of institutions that facilitate the practice of several disciplines, both from a mass point of view and from high performance.
