Cuban Company Works to Increase Exports
Monday, February 11, 2019

Havana.- The Victoria de Giron agribusiness company, in the western province of Matanzas, is working to increase production of several exportable items.

The firm prioritizes lines such as concentrated juices of citrus, essential oils, fresh citrus and vegetable charcoal, among others.

Coupled with this is the substitution of imports by selling its products to the tourism sector and the companies La Estancia, Sociedad Mercantil Cubana de Alimentos y Bebidas S.A.

In 2018, the company exported more than 5,000 tons of charcoal and this year, it plans to reach 14,000 tons of that product.

This year, the firm must produce some 75,000 tons of citrus, supported by extensive crops, together with 3,800 tons of food and vegetables, among other crops.
