Specialized Forum on Epilepsy in Cuba |

Havana.- The International Center for Neurological Restoration, based in this capital, hosted a specialized event on epilepsy.
The meeting allowed participants to share experiences on the basic, clinical and surgical aspects of the disease.
According to experts, epilepsies are the second cause of neurological disease and affect children, adolescents and adults alike.
The main causes of the disease are structural (when there is a lesion in the brain), infectious, metabolic, immunological and genetic.
In Cuba's case, the epilepsy surgery program has already been extended to the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery, the Juan Manuel Marquez Children's Hospital and the Hermanos Ameijeiras Hospital.
