Gold Mining in Central Cuba |

Havana.- Obtaining gold is part of the mining priorities in central Cuba, where the Jarahueca deposit (Sancti Spiritus) is being exploited.
The processing plant in Placetas is responsible for the extraction of the precious metal and in 2018 alone, about 23 kilograms were obtained, with revenues close to one million dollars.
The plant uses the method known as leaching, in which cyanide is used, hence the importance of proper compliance with safety regulations.
In order to deal with emergencies, the plant has a medical post and its own ambulance, while every year, all workers must undergo rigorous medical examinations.
The gold processing plant aims is expected to produce two million dollars in gold at the end of 2019, in addition to consolidating the study of new fields and territories.
