Electronic Banking Gains Ground in Camagüey |

Havana.- Cuba's electronic banking system, designed to facilitate financial operations in the country, is gaining ground in the eastern province of Camagüey.
According to statistics from the sector, at the end of 2018, 123,000 magnetic cards had been issued, as a means of payment that favors more dynamic transactions in several areas.
Payroll and salaries, payments to retirees, self-employed workers, collaborators in other countries, and transactions in the agricultural sector are some of the facilities currently offered by this service.
Specialists from Banco Popular de Ahorro pointed out that the most demanded cards are those to pay retirees, with 57,975 units issued, and subsidies were also created.
All these services that are currently provided are part of the process of computerization of Cuban society, which will facilitate all kinds of monetary transactions.
