Experts Predict Increase in Tourist Arrivals in Peru
Monday, February 18, 2019

Lima.- The tourist sector of Peru is expected to receive 4.8 million international holidaymakers during 2019.

That figure, according to financial sources, represents an interannual growth of around 10 percent.

Predictions are based on the holding of regional sporting events in the country, such as the Pan-American and Parapan Am Games Lima-2019.

Both contests could attract about 75,000 visitors, to which is added the U-17 Soccer World Cup to be held in October.

In addition, there is the recent edition of the Dakar rally during the first days of the year that would have generated a local economic impact of up to 60 million dollars.

The offer of competitive air fares also encourages the expansion of intraregional tourism from different markets in Latin America.
