Havana.- The Hotel Rueda, in the Cuban province of Ciego de Avila, was proposed as a candidate for the 2019 National Prize for Restoration of Monuments, sponsored by the National Council of Cultural Heritage.
According to specialists, the building, constructed in 1920, stands out for its architecture and majesty, and is one of the main exponents of eclecticism in the city.
The hotel has interior patios with fountains or water mirrors, sculptures, and outdoor spaces linked to several services.
It also has Creole mosaics on the floor, tall windows of precious wood, translucent glass doors, ceiling with plaster decorations and four original iron columns.
The four-star 30-room Hotel Rueda belongs to the Encanto Hotels chain and offers personalized services to guests.
