German Airline Expands Operations in Cuban Market
Monday, March 11, 2019

Havana.- The low-cost German airline Eurowings, present in Cuba with flights to Havana and Varadero, will add new routes from Munich and Dusseldorf.

That itinerary will include the Abel Santamaria International Airport in Santa Clara, in central Cuba.

The operations, carried out in conjunction with the tour operator FTI Touristik, will allow the extension of the access roads to Villa Clara's keys, a destination that is highly demanded by German tourists.

With a fleet of 122 planes and more than 130 destinations, FTI Touristik operates scheduled flights to Europe, Africa, the Americas and Asia, and is made up of Eurowings, Eurowings Europe, Germanwings and SunExpress Deutschland.

Official figures show that in 2016, 242,355 visitors from Germany arrived in Cuba, accounting for a growth of 38 percent compared to the previous year.
