Rio de Janeiro Carnival Contributes Millions of Dollars to Economy |

Brasilia.- This year, the popular Rio de Janeiro carnival, the biggest party in Brazil, contributed incomes of 994.7 million dollars, a record figure for the activity.
This amount represents a growth of 26 percent compared to 2017.
More than seven million people enjoyed the party, including 1.6 million tourists who stayed for up to 11 days in the venue of the event.
Analysts highlighted the dynamic expansion of commerce and services within the framework of the carnival, taking into account that this event benefited from investments of some 20 million dollars in the preparatory phase.
According to statistics, 63.2 percent of foreign visitors who enjoyed the carnival rated public safety as good or excellent, and 98.4 percent expressed satisfaction.
