Cuban Symphony Orchestra Tours Spain
Monday, May 13, 2019

Havana.- The Cuban Symphony Orchestra, accompanied by musicians Niurka Gonzalez and Silvio Rodriguez, is touring several Spanish cities.

Executives pointed out that the tour is part of the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the foundation of the orchestra.

The concerts will take place in Barcelona, Santander and Madrid with a varied program that includes works of a strong temperament and extreme delicacy.

The repertoire is a tour through Cuban musical history based, with works like "Tres Pequeños Poemas", by Amadeo Roldan, and "Danzon", by Alejandro Garcia Caturla.

Other musical pieces will be "Pentesilea", by Carlos Fariñas, and "Guaguanco", by Guido Lopez-Gavilan, which are considered examples of the African presence in Cuban music.
