Havana.- Cuba will be present at the 24th edition of the Taekwondo World Championships in Manchester, the United Kingdom.

The Cuban delegation aims to increase the country's historic number of medals at that level, where it has accumulated 16 medals (three gold, four silver and nine bronze medals).

The women's team will include Glenhis Hernández (73 kg), world champion in 2013; Yania Aguirre (49 kg), Tamara Roble (57 kg) and Arlettys de la Caridad Acosta (67 kg).

The men's team is made up of Rafael Alba (+87 kg), world champion in Mexico 2013, and Jose Angel Cobas (80 kg), Pan-American champion in Toronto 2015.

In the table of medals of world championships, Cuba ranks 20th among 206 nations affiliated to the World Taekwondo Federation, where the leadership corresponds to South Korea.
