Havana.- The Cuban long jumper Juan Miguel Echevarria will compete in the third stage of the Athletics Diamond League in Stockholm, Sweden.
Echevarria set a record of 8.92 meters in March 2019, during the last edition of the Cuba Cup, although that mark was with the wind in favor.
The gold medalist at the world indoors event in Birmingham, Great Britain, last year, is one of Cuba's hopes in athletics at major international competitions in 2019.
Among its biggest challenges will be the Pan-American Games in Lima, Peru, from July 26 to August 11, and the world championship Doha, Qatar, from September 28 to October 6.
Last year in Stockholm, the Cuban jumper won the gold medal with a record of 8.83 meters.
